Devil in a Bush, Love in a Mist is a publication and poster produced as a conceptual extension of Nadie Borggreve’s installation, which centers on the flower from which the publication takes its name.
For this zine, we drew inspiration from botanical books and anatomical studies of plants. Through extreme close-up Xerox copies of the flower, the visuals resemble microscopic imagery — a way of conceptually dissecting and presenting each part of the plant as its own subject.
This approach mirrors the themes present in Borggreve’s work: the interplay between surface and depth, visibility and concealment, delicacy and disquiet.
